Canada Day - Pouce Coupe
The summer events usually begin on July 1st, the annual Canada Day celebrations as we celebrate this beautiful country we call home. Despite the parade being short in nature (about 15 minutes) it’s always good to get out to Pouce Coupe and see everyone celebrating our country. Thankfully as part of the festivities, the Village of Pouce Coupe pays for BC Transit to run a shuttle bus between Dawson Creek and Pouce Coupe. The bus leaves the Co-op and travels down 8th Street towards Edmonton. As we arrive in Pouce Coupe we turn off of the highway onto 50th Street before turning down the alley way and stopping behind the Post Office. We would then walk down the main street (49th Avenue) and turning down 51st Street where we’d watch the parade.
After the parade, we’d make our way back to the bus where it was parked behind the Post Offfice. Since the bus didn’t leave for about 20 minutes, my friends would stand outside and enjoy the fresh air. Just before departure, we’d board the bus and find our seats near the rear of the bus. The bus then left the designated spot and turned up 51 Street towards the school where we drove to the designated spot at the Ball Diamonds before turning around and coming back to the street and the highway back to town. After arriving back into Dawson my friends and I went for lunch at Post & Row, a local restaurant in town before heading back home
